Yes...I'm back from LDP at last. To me, it was 6 days of agony and suffering. Well, I didn't enjoy it much...and I missed my friends and family =(. When we reached the campsite, I felt like going home immediately =X. And I thought the morale was pretty low among the students. Anyway, I brought back tons of mosquito bites and rash from the camp. Heh. Anyway...there's a storyline to this camp...and here's how it goes...
2 races, the Humans and the Animals. Each race consists of 3 clans...and each clan consisted of about 3 classes or so. The Humans consisted of Achilles, Hercules, and Titans...while the Animals consisted of the Jaguar, Cheetah, and Panther. Basically, both races are supposed to be at war with each other, where waterbombs will be thrown at each other. and the race with the highest point will win.
Anyway, each clan had their own cheer and flag. Furthermore, we get points from stealing each others flags and also from activities that we do. Just to name the activities that were carried out...there was kayaking, raft building, land nav, abseiling, flying-fox, high-e, and rock climbing. And on the 5th day of the camp, which is also the second last day, there was a war between the Animals and the Humans.
Well, I thought the "war" was taken too seriously. I mean it should be a friendly "war"...afterall we're a cohort. I kinda felt abit of tension between the two races...or perhaps I'm just being overly sensitive. But if that was really the case, then I don't really see the point in winning the war at all. In the end, there was a draw. -.-'''
Frankly speaking, I thought this camp was pretty disorgansied, and I don't intend to talk about the details. But I enjoyed kayaking most. It was really fun...although there was jellyfish in the sea =X. When we stepped on the mud...the mud got to our waist level. Yea...it was dirty...especially for kayaking, raft building, and land nav...the mud got to waist level. Well, we had one dish with rice to fill our stomachs for meals initially...thankfully it got better subsequently. I guess i should have stocked up rations at Yong Peng. On the first 2 nights, we camped in tents whereas on the last 3 nights we got to sleep in bunks. Oh yea, we cooked our own dinner on the 2nd night of the camp. Pretty interesting. Shifting to the bunks was a huge relief actually, because when it rained at the tents camp site...it gets real muddy and soily. And the soil looks like teh tarik. I guess the only consolation at that campsite was the ice-cream man. Haha. Although the bunks were much cleaner, there's this perpetual stench of dung in that area. It was quite gross la. Then, there was this instructor who carried two parangs with him, and he was known as Buffy, because he's buff. Yea...lol, I heard he was also known as Para Para Sakura as well. On the bright sight, we had proper toilets and a dining hall...so yea...I shouldn't complain much...although I think I already am. I was so happy when I boarded the bus on the last day. HAHA! Not forgetting...THE BEST IS YET TO BE!~ Well, when we got back to school, we bumped into Demon Yap and he said, "You guys still not dead arh??" Bummer.
The camp wasn't entirely bad with my friends around...well...we did Barney Diva...something like...Barney is a dinosaur (Yes!~...a dinosaur!~). And we were talking about the song Fergalicious, how Fergie actually happen to forget her lyrics at the "Fergilicious def~ Fergilicious def~ Fergilicious def~" part. LOL. Not forgetting "jang-mang-gang-ring-a-ling-a-dong" Erm, we were attempting to speak Viet. What's more I managed to get to know Mr Koh and Miss Alice Tan more...and Miss Alice Tan's really friendly, what's more...she's nice to talk to. Haha.
I guess it'd be quite sad to say that I haven't learnt anything from the camp. Through this, I've learnt to appreciate the many things around me, and not to take them for granted. What's more, I've come to realise that I'm actually quite a spoilt brat and that home is and will always be THE BEST. Mark my words. Most importantly, without my friends, I wouldn't have been able to survive this 6 days, and this camp has really taught me how to appreciate them. Well, I was quite relieved when I left the place...thankfully my friends were around to help me pull through this camp. And the only thing which kept me positive was the counting down to the last day of the camp (Ok...that didn't really make sense).
I feel really tired...but hey...I'm looking forward to tomorrow...cos I'm gonna indulge in myself. Haha...sushi buffet....fish n co...hmm... *drools*
...but words will never hurt me; 8:53 PM.
